Packing, Packing & more Packing!
This month has been BUSY! February 1st started the beginning of our moving process. This month we've replaced floors in our house, packed a crate to be shipped across the ocean, moved everything out of our house, moved into our church's mission house, started showing our home for potential renters, and been officially appointed as IMB Missionaries!
The official Sending Ceremony was in Charleston, SC at First Baptist Church Charleston.
Charleston is where Aubree grew up from 5th grade through college and where we met in College at Charleston Southern University. It felt very fitting for us to start our journey with the IMB in a place where both of us feel very much at home.
The service started with 'All Hail the Power of Jesus Name' being played powerfully by a full band in the balcony. The trumpet sounds echoed in the church accompanied by the powerful voices of the congregation. Members of First Baptist read the verses Matthew 28:19-20 at the center of the church to signify the Word of God was central for their church. From being on stage and telling the audience where we will be going to serve to being prayed over by our friends and family, it was an emotional experience. We felt so blessed and proud to represent South Carolina Baptists and our sending church, Church at the Mill!
As our time in Spartanburg draws to an end, we feel the tension of being excited for what is coming and the sorrow of the many goodbyes rapidly approaching. We are learning in this season that when you love deeply, joy and grief go hand in hand. March is going to be full of a lot of goodbyes and see you laters, but we know that we are being obedient to follow the Lord where He has called our family. The girls have their final playdates on the calendar as we try to end well our season of life and ministry in Spartanburg. February was very physically tiring, and we know that March will be very emotionally tiring. We have been praying over our girl's hearts as we go into this final month in Spartanburg.
It has been a gift to do life deeply with people and serve and love Church at the Mill the last nine years. We rejoice in the work we have been able to participate in and pray against anxiousness in the unknowns of the path before us.
Thank you for following along with our journey to Manchester! We can't wait to share all that the Lord is doing to prepare our hearts and our steps to love and serve the people of Northern England.
