A Year of Transition
We started this newsletter a year ago, and what a wild year it has been. It felt like a sweet celebration to have our sending church send its first team to us this month. We are 9 months into being on the field, but a year into the full time transition of moving to Manchester.
A team of 7 came to Manchester with the intention of loving and encouraging our family and hearing the vision for what ministry in Manchester will look like. We were able to connect the team with National Partners in multiple areas around the city to see how the Lord is moving and working in Manchester. We prayer walked, had afternoons of evangelism, and enjoyed lots of good meals chatting about life and ministry. The team tasted British snacks and treats and heard about life and church from our local Pastors and new church friends.
The juxtaposition of world cultures and light of Christ vs. darkness of the world were made very evident by walking around this great city. Beautiful historic churches that no longer preach the gospel next to Evangelical church communities prayerfully searching for a place to call their own within the same square milage.
As we shared very tearful goodbyes, we were left with a sense of over whelming thankfulness. Thankful for our sending church, and how the body has loved and supported us in this move and continue to hold the rope as we pour into life and ministry in the UK. We are thankful for the team's hearts to love, encourage, and support the Pastor's and workers here in Manchester that they met.
Kris and I say to each other about once a week, we can't believe we get to do this! To participate in how the Lord is growing the global church and how He is stirring in hearts here in Manchester.
We want to thank all of you that supported, donated, prayed, supplied, packed, babysat so that we could be loved by our sending church family. It is hard to say goodbye to our friends but to see them love our city as we do makes the connection much stronger. We love the photos of crumpets and bee mugs!
