July 2025: Home Sweet Home

July 2025:

Field Issue #6

"Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted.5 “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth. Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 12: 4-6

Answered Prayers

  1. We found out as soon as we left our Prestwich Airbnb the pipes burst and the home flooded- we were frustrated in the moment to leave, but are grateful for protection from all our belongings potentially being ruined.
  2. A generous and sweet church family let us live in their home for a week as we were signing the contracts for our rental.
  3. WE FOUND A HOUSE! The Lord made it VERY clear which house He wanted us in. Property managers would either not respond to us, deny our offers, or houses would go off the market on our way to view the home. We are very very thankful to be settling in our home!
  4. Emma had a great birthday! We were able to explore the John Ryland's Library and find cheese burgers. (both her request)
  5. Kris was able to work with Team England North this month to help with an evangelism training in Liverpool.
  6. We are starting to build relationships at our church with families and have felt very connected to community this month.
  7. Kris had continued conversations with his barber, H, who has left Islam and is looking for a new religion.

July PRAYER REQUESTS

One thing that echos in our hearts and minds is that prayer is the work of this missionary journey, we can do nothing apart from Jesus! We would love for you to join us each week in praying over the work of ministry, our family, and life in Manchester.

  1. Monday: Pray for the people of North Manchester to hear the Word of God and have receptive hearts. Pray for opportunities for us to love and serve the people of our city! Pray we would be people zealous for good work that the Lord has prepared for us.
  2. Tuesday: Pray for our home on Hawthorn Drive to be a place of hope, peace, and deep fellowship. Join us in praying for opportunities to meet and love our neighbors, and dig into daily rhythms that will bless our family.
  3. Wednesday: Pray for the girls as they continue adjust to life in England. Pray for opportunities for our family to play and find joy in the midst of stress. Pray for friends at school as we prepare to go to public school. Pray for wisdom as we wait to hear back about which schools are available for the girls in September.
  4. Thursday- Pray for our Marriage: Unity, understanding, and grace! Pray for both Kris and I to be fully dependent on the Lord throughout our days, that we would have grace and Joy in that dependence on Him!
  5. Friday - Pray for our National Partner- Trinity Church. Pray for the pastors P+M and their families.

Stories from the Field

Oasis.

Cleaning was the first task of moving into our new home. Baseboards, bathrooms, floors, grimy walls, and- BLINDS! I have never in my life seen such dirty blinds. To be honest, we didn't notice how gross the blinds were until we tried to put up curtains in the girls room to block the evening light. We tried to swipe a wet wipe across quickly to clean off the grime, but it was of no use. Each blind had to be cleaned one at a time with wet soapy water to clean the potentially years worth of dirt off each section.

A labor of love. As I stood in each girl's room to clean each section of blind, I was able to spend multiple hours just looking towards the city centre of Manchester. The two bedrooms the girls share have a direct view to downtown Manchester. Its a lovely view.

See you next week!
