Field Issue #14
Mens ministry helping a local charity move garden beds
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. -2 Corinthians 4:16-18

PRAYER REQUESTS
One thing that echoes in our hearts and minds is that prayer is the work of this missionary journey; we can do nothing apart from Jesus! We would love for you to join us each week in praying over the work of ministry, our family, and life in Manchester.
Monday: Revival in Manchester- would you be bold with us and other believers in the city to ask for 1 million people to follow Christ in Manchester?
Tuesday: Pray for boldness and spiritual conversations where we can share the gospel! Pray for connections and in roads to relationships in our community. Pray for creativity in reaching the every and all in our city.
Wednesday: Pray for our family to be kind and show grace in everyday moments with one another.
Thursday- We got some news about our taxes in the UK. Will you pray that this wont be a huge financial burden. We are getting a tax consultant and will learn more in the coming months.
Friday - Pray for our football outreach we are planning for May 27-29. Would you begin praying that God would bring families to faith through our partnership with Ambassadors Football Ministry.
Stories from the Field
This month we have been busy with planning. We have teams coming in May, June, and July!! March has been full of prepping for the teams, and helping with some church systems and processes. We are continuing to form friendships and nurture relationships at school, church, and in the community. We have made a lot of progress behind the scenes to get teams prepared for this summer. A few days ago we had a call with 10 college students from South Carolina who were being trained and prepared to come to us in May. Its really hard to believe that WE are the missionaries. I, Kris, felt like it was a minute ago that I was that university student sitting in a room excited to learn from those who are called to do hard things for Jesus. We are so thankful for people making the sacrifice to come to Manchester. Another opportunity this month was to help the local gardening group, called Incredible Edibles. They help grow vegetables and allow the community to pick and take from the gardens. They had 5 or 6 box planters that needed moving. One of the members goes to our church and asked the lads if we could pitch in. After 4 hours and a few trips, we managed to move the beds to another location closer to an area of poverty. These life on life moments seem to be one of the best ways to talk to people about church and our faith. Ministry-wise, things are progressing well, but to be honest, family things has been hard this month. I’m not sure if it’s the weather or what, but everything has just felt heavy and tough. One day it hailed, snowed, sleeted, and was sunny all within 45 minutes. Maybe the honeymoon phase is wearing off. Three out of the four of the children got sick this month, and we received some bad news about a change in our UK tax situation. We also have some ongoing troubles with our home in the States. On top of that, we’re facing the never-ending questions about the war in Iran and our feelings about Trump. Altogether, it just all feels heavy. A missionary in our training said, "There is no transformation by aviation." This missionary life only exposes places where we need to trust Him more.
That’s the beauty of spring and the approaching Easter season: just when you feel finished and hopeless, it turns. Flowers begin to bloom, the sun comes out. This year, we are more in need of Easter than ever—we need the hope that comes from a risen Savior. I need resurrection Sunday. Thats all we have to cling to sometimes. Are you desperate for Jesus to return, to bring a light that never ends? Manchester needs it; the world needs it. “Easter points us beyond the tragedy of the Cross to the hope of the empty tomb. It tells us that there is hope for eternal life for Christ has conquered death. It also tells us that God has triumphed over evil and death and hell. This is our hope and it can be your hope as well.”” -Billy Graham
