May 2025: Good Goodbyes

May 2025: Good Goodbyes

Field Issue #5

Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. For not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one. And we have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing and will do the things that we command. May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.
2 Thessalonians 3:1-5

PRAYER REQUESTS

One thing that echos in our hearts and minds is that prayer is the work of this missionary journey, we can do nothing apart from Jesus! We would love for you to join us each week in praying over the work of ministry, our family, and life in Manchester.

  1. Monday: Pray for the people of Manchester to hear the Word of God and have receptive hearts. Pray for opportunities for us to love and serve the people of our city!
  2. Tuesday: Pray for Team England North: our teammates in northern England that the Lord would direct their hearts in the love of God and in the steadfastness of Christ.
  3. Wednesday: Pray for the girls as they adjust to life in England. Pray as they grieve family and friends. Pray for us as we parent and love each of them well as we see what each heart needs. Pray for opportunities for our family to play in the midst of stress.
  4. Thursday- Pray for our Marriage. Unity, understanding, and grace! Pray for both Kris and I to be fully dependent on the Lord throughout our days, that we would have grace and Joy in that dependence on Him!
  5. Friday - Pray for Housing: we would find a home base to do life, love our neighbors, and dig into daily rhythms.

Answered Prayers

  1. We were able to say goodbye well and spent time with our families before we left. The Delta worker as we checked in even allowed our family to come through security to our gate with us!! What a blessing!
  2. FPO was an incredible time of learning and refreshment. We left training feeling equipped to lean into Jesus as we start this journey!

Stories from the Field

Good Goodbyes

The Month of May has been incredibly full!

We were able to celebrate Aubree’s birthday, Riley’s birthday, and Mother’s Day with our FPO family. The group really worked hard to make those days sweet and special. From our quad-mates staying up late and decorating to the children of FPO singing happy birthday at the play ground each of the days became sweet memories of our time in Virginia.

We watched as the Lord moved in the lives of friends praying over visas, travel logistics, and housing on the field.

We listened as men, women, and children shared their heart in worship and zeal. The Lord used Mady as she shared her favorite verse, Zephaniah 3:17 with the group and recounted how the Lord had used that verse to comfort her in the midst of our move to the UK.

We watched our girls thrive. They made many new friends and are excited to start their new lives as TCK’s (third culture kids).

We finished training and were commissioned to the field with 45 of our best friends! We left Virginia with the call of Revelation 7:9 and the vision of the IMB heavy on our heart: to see a multitude of people from every nation, tribe, people, and language knowing and worshiping our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our final week has been packing, packing, and more packing! Saying a whole lot of see you laters to those near and dear!

As this news letter hits your inboxes, our feet will have left the United States to hit the soil of the United Kingdom.

Our prayer as we head to the field is that the word of the Lord would speed ahead and be honored in the city of Manchester. That we would be fully dependent on the Spirit to guide our steps each day. The upcoming month has the logistics of finding phone plans, a British bank, a rental property, and navigating day to day life in a new country five hours ahead of EST.

We look forward to see what the Lord has in store in the Month of June!
