December Prayer Requests

One thing that echoes in our hearts and minds is that prayer is the work of this missionary journey; we can do nothing apart from Jesus! We would love for you to join us each week in praying over the work of ministry, our family, and life in Manchester.

  1. Monday: Pray for the Lottie Moon Christmas offering! Pray for churches as they support not just our family to help make the gospel known in Manchester, but also more than 3,500 IMB missionaries around the world. Here are prayer prompts you can check out!https://www.imb.org/lmco-resources/week-of-prayer-for-international-missions/
  2. Tuesday: Pray for boldness and spiritual conversations where we can share the gospel! As we prayer walk, map the city, pick up our children from school- and all the other moments of our day. Pray for connections and in roads to relationships in our community.
  3. Wednesday: We have had doubt, anxiety, and hearts turning hard. Spiritual warfare against the hearts of our family is real. Pray for Christ's unity, truth, and grace, and peace to reign supreme in our home! Pray for salvation for Riley and Eleanor. Isaiah 50:4
  4. Thursday- Pray for our rhythms going into December. It seems that this might be our busiest month yet here in England. Pray that we have good habits of rest and that we also participate in the gift of Christmas.
  5. Friday - Pray for our December Outreaches! 12/2, Aubree is teaching at ESL, 12/6 We have a family craft event, 12/14 Big Gift Day at Church (making and providing items for families in need),12/21 We have a carol service at Church.

Stories from the Field

Acts 1:8

This month has been filled with conferences on how to reach our Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria. We started this month with a meeting at City Church in the city centre of Manchester. We spent the day broken into different groups learning the ins and outs of church planting. We got a great understanding of church planting in our home city. The next week Kris was off to Blackpool with the Federation of Independent Evangelical Churches. This conference was full of pastors from all over the UK. Kris was able to meet new pastors, see other IMB missionaries, and hear the state of Christianity in the UK. Then on a last minute invite from our national partner church, Kris joined them to a conference in Budapest, Hungary. This was to hear from a church planting network from all over Europe. This was a time of learning and challenge as churches were encouraged to think about Gen-Z ministry and evangelism strategies to fit an ever changing Europe.

Overall, we want you to know that God is moving all over Europe. At each opportunity this month, Ministry leaders could not hold back the emotion of wanting people to find a healthy local church. We agree that planting more churches is a part of the solution. Covid and the mass migration into Europe has challenged the status quo and many people are looking for answers to their spiritual questions.

We have hope today because of Jesus and the way he is raising up everyday Christians to love their neighbors. We are grateful to be along for the ride.
